Artillery and 120 mm Mortars: Elynxo’s GP2M at the Core of Dutch Capabilities

A capability build-up combining air mobility projection, enhanced responsiveness, and advanced aiming technologies for indirect fire operations.

Strengthened and More Autonomous Fire Support Capabilities

The reintroduction of heavy mortars restores a key organic fire support capability, enabling the brigade to deliver rapid and effective support to ground operations. These systems can now be deployed via air mobility, notably using Chinook helicopters, providing increased tactical flexibility across operational environments.

This capability also helps reduce reliance on external fire support assets, such as attack helicopters, while improving the responsiveness of deployed units.

Capability Development Towards 2027

This evolution is part of a broader transformation effort within the Dutch armed forces, aiming to establish a fully operational Air Manoeuvre Task Force by 2027.

In this context, integrating modern and efficient artillery systems is essential to ensuring operational superiority on the battlefield.

The Role of Advanced Aiming Technologies in Indirect Fire

The effectiveness of mortar systems relies heavily on precision and speed in targeting and deployment. Artillery units therefore depend on advanced technological solutions to optimize indirect fire operations.

The GP2M goniometer developed by Elynxo equips these capabilities and plays a key role in ensuring accurate, fast, and reliable mortar alignment.
